As I pull into the familiar parking lot of Eagle Ridge Golf Club, a sense of excitement and nostalgia washes over me. This place has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and the memories I’ve made here have shaped me into the golfer, and person, I am today.
It was here, on these pristine fairways and undulating greens, that I first picked up a golf club as a wide-eyed 8-year-old, full of wonder and dreams of one day playing on the PGA Tour. I can still picture my dad, a passionate golfer himself, gently guiding my tiny hands as we worked on the fundamentals – the grip, the stance, the swing. [1] Those early lessons planted the seeds that would eventually blossom into a lifelong love affair with the game.
